The best way to avoid an emergency is to avoid risk all together and if willing to accept the risks of paddling, become educated and plan ahead. Please note that the USE OF FIN EQUIPMENT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK, WE DO NOT OFFER RESCUE SERVICE NOR GUARANTEE A QUICK RESPONSE. Proper education and prior experience is necessary.
If you find yourself in an emergency, we recommend:
- Always make sure you have your life jacket on.
- Stay with your kayak, it will float and keep you afloat. It will also make you easier to see.
- Blow your whistle. Wave your paddle or both hands above your head.
- If the emergency is life threatening or out of your control call 911.
