- Check life jacket label to ensure that the life jacket is a proper fit for your size and weight.
- Put the life jacket one. Inspect the jacket for wear and tear. Warning signs include rips and missing or broken buckles or straps. Make sure to report any damage in the Fin app or via the contact form.
- Make sure the jacket is properly fastened. Buckle all straps and tighten or zip up all zippers.
- Hold your arms straight up over your head and ask a friend to grasp the tops of the arm openings and gently pull up. Make sure there is no excess room above the openings and that the jacket does not ride up over your chin, ears, or face.
